Flying RC (remote controlled) glider is both fun and exciting. In comparison to electric or gas powered RC planes, RC glider offers a quieter and inexpensive flying experience.

RC gliders are quite similar to sail planes and they are an amazing flying machines. The only difference between a RC glider and a sailplane is that the gliders can sometimes have a small electric motor for steering the glider in the air whereas, sailplanes don’t have a motor.  A remote controlled glider is just like a life size counterpart of birds and gives you a chance to soar high like a bird.

There are different types of RC gliders and most of them are very stable in the air and easy to fly. You can fly gliders from a slope or a flat land with the help of some kind of launching system.

Launching your RC glider:

There are different ways to launch your glider. The methods are described below:

Hand Launching:

This is the best way to launch your RC glider in the air while flying from a cliff top or hillside. You need to point your glider in the direction of the wind flow so that the glider quickly catches the wind and stays afloat in the air. While you hand launch your RC glider it is essential that you give it a firm push so as it give it the right momentum. Before you launch make sure that your glider is in horizontal position.

Towline Launching:

For towline launching of your RC glider you would require two people. In this method, you need to lift your glider to a certain height before releasing the glider in the air.

While choosing the correct method of launching your RC glider you must consider factors such as the kind of flying you want, the place where you are flying and the type of glider you have.
