Flying RC aircrafts on a weekend or in spare time is great fun. It is an amazing feeling to watch your aircraft fly. If this is your first time flying aircrafts, you must know that there are different types of RC aircrafts.
Types of RC aircrafts:
Trainer aircrafts:
These RC airplanes are designed especially for beginners. These airplanes help you learn how to fly radio-controlled airplanes. Trainer RC aircrafts have a conventional and basic design. They have wings on top of the fuselage so as to give the plane maximum stability in the air. Trainer radio controlled aircrafts can be electric motor powered or powered by gas. You can find trainer aircrafts in different shapes and sizes of your choice.
Sports Aircrafts:
Sports Aircrafts are a level up from a basic trainer aircraft. But these aircrafts can also be used for training purpose. With a sports aircraft you can perform different aerial stunts. These aircrafts have better maneuverability and allows you to perform different tricks in the air. A majority of sport radio controlled aircrafts have high wings, but you can also find aircrafts with mid or low wings.
Aerobatic Airplanes:
These airplanes are designed specifically for professional fliers for performing advanced aerobatic feats. Aerobatic RC Aircrafts typically have mid or low wings with oversize control surfaces and motors that are very powerful to fly at high speeds up to 360 mph. Professional fliers perform breath taking stunts with these planes.
Warbirds:
Warbirds are a popular type of RC Aircrafts. These planes are a favorite amongst many RC Aircraft flying enthusiasts. Warbirds are known for providing a smooth flying experience to its fliers. Warbirds are powerful aircrafts that fly at high speeds and hence are not suitable for beginners. However, these days there are some slow versions of warbirds available.
